Heir Searches

The Klein Group is California’s only private investigations firm with a dedicated team focused on heir searches.  It’s one of the things we’re known for.

Our proven approach has helped hundreds of probate administrators and trustees fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities – quickly and efficiently, and with appropriate documentation.

We begin with best-in-class genealogical research, using such resources as old census records, newspaper clippings and phone directories.  If necessary, we locate relevant birth and death certificates, probate filings, real estate deeds and business licenses.

We then leverage those findings with the old-fashioned tool known as the telephone.  With sensitivity and empathy, we call distant family members, old friends and business contacts to confirm our initial findings, inquire about unidentified heirs and develop additional leads.

The results are findings you can be confident in, and we provide supporting documentation and affidavits testifying to our search results.

Skip Tracing

The Klein Group approach to skip tracing is simple: to provide the right address the first time.

And we succeed nearly all the time.

We’re able to find people so effectively because we have a huge toolkit of sources to pick up on any clue that the subject has recently moved — anywhere in the United States and even overseas.

In any particular skip trace, we might call upon  court records, DMV registrations, voter files, real estate records, change-of-address forms, social media sightings and license plate reader data.

Our skip traces come fully-documented so you can have confidence in our findings, and we backup up our work with sworn declarations and testimony as needed.

Surveillance

The Klein Group specializes in complex surveillance in support of employment, business and intellectual property litigation.

Our teams of trained surveillance investigators are both discreet and effective, and we operate throughout the United States.

Proper surveillance requires proper planning, and we are known for the time and patience we put into setting up each day’s sit.  We review local maps, plan possible and alternate routes, and review social media and other online sources to determine the best day and time to maximize the chances of success.
